Red Raiders Rally Over Louisville Cardinals Surviving on the road to Omaha, Next Stop the Lubbock Super Regionals

Texas Tech is back on the road to Omaha after eliminating Louisville 11-6 at Dan Law Field on Sunday night. Red Raiders were the visiting team and started the game with a hit parade.

Holt hit by a pitch and matriculated around the bases on back to back passed balls. Klein walked and with 1st and 3rd with no outs. Josh Jung stepped to the plate sending a 2-2 fastball to right center to score Holt. After Little struck out, Zach Rheams hit a ball that should have had a stewardess and an in-flight movie.

Davis Martin as he pitched five innings with 5 hits, 2 earned runs, and a walk / strike out. Sixty six pitches, and left with a hug to Jose Quezada and a point to the sky.

Red Raiders added runs in the 2nd, 4th, 5th and and 6th to stretch the lead to 9-2.

Louisville’s Snider hit a no doubter two run homer to right field and put his finger to his face trying to shush the crowd. Even after the Cardinals cut the lead to 9-6 the Red Raiders bullpen shut them down.

Texas Tech now hosts the Blue Devils starting on Saturday at 2, Sunday at 3 and Monday at 5 P.M. if necessary.
