Red Black Game 2 Black wins 11-3

A wonderful afternoon to the Red Raider faithful as game 2 of the Red/Black series continues at the Law.

Just got news this game will only be a 7 inning contest.

Davis Martin will be starting for the red team.

Gabe Holt leads off with a single to CF, Grant Little follows it up with a walk. Double steal moves the runners to 2nd and 3rd for John McMillon who struck out. Kurt Wilson grounded out but gets credit with the RBI. 1-0 Red. Michael Berglund flies out, 1-0 Red after 1/2 of an inning.

Dylan Dusek takes the mound for the Red team & gets Cody Farhat to strikeout. Brian Klein flew out to RF and Josh Jung grounded out to end the inning. T2 1-0 Red

Beck grounded out to short. Zayne Willems doubled to LF. Brock Martin struck out. Holt walked. (Yes, I know there are only 8 players batting for the Black team) Runners were balked over. After an error by Michael Davis which scored both runners Dylan Dusek got a strikeout to end the inning 2-3 on the putout.

Cameron Warren stepped in for the Red team and sat down after a 3 pitch strikeout. Davis struck out but advanced on a passed ball. He then moved over to 2nd on the fielders choice by Clay Koelzer 1-3. Rheams out.

T3 3-0 Black

Wilson strikes out to start the 3rd. Berglund flies out to 3rd. Beck with infield single and steals 2nd. Davis with another error and allows Beck to come into score to extend the lead to 4-0. Brock Martin singled to left to put runners at 1st and 2nd, but Gabe Holt flew out to left . 4-0 Black B3

Simonich flies out to deep center and Fulford flied out to shallow right. Farhat grounded out 4-3. T4 4-0 Black

3 innings of work for Dusek. 4 runs, 5 hits, 2 errors 1 ER. Caleb Freeman comes in for the Red team.

Little grounded out 5-3. McMillon struck out on a nasty slider.  Michael Davis with the E6 allow Kurt Wilson to reach. Wilson advances to 2nd on the wild pitch. Berglund walked. Beck with the infield hit to load the bases. Willems clears the bases with a ball off of the top of the wall triple. Martin grounds out to end the inning. 7-0 Black

Ryan Sublette comes in for the black team to the B4.

Klein walks on 4 straight balls. Jung flew out to RF as wind killed the ball. Warren takes one deep to left (wind aided) for the 2 run Adios Muchachos. Davis grounded out to 2nd followed by a single for Clay Koelzer. Rheams strikes out to end the inning.

T5 7-2 Black

Gabe Holt shows some speed on an infield single to second. Grant Little walked on 4 pitches to bring up the Whammer John McMillon with 2k’s today. Double steal moves the runners and John Mc drives in 1 with the fielders choice. Passed ball scores another run to make it 9-2 Black.

Wilson singles up the middle and is caught stealing 2-5. Berglund pool cues one into right for a double. Beck into the right field alley for a double bringing in Berglund to make it 10-2 Black. Willems with another hit driving in Beck. Another passed ball allows Willems to move to 2nd. Willems has had a great day today. Martin walked and that’s the end of Freeman.

Jose Quezada comes into pitch and gets a groundout to end the inning.

11-2 Black B5

Simonich grounded out to 2nd. Fulford+Farhat struck out.

Little lined out to short. McMillon avoids the easy strikeout and walks. He is thrown out on a failed hit & run. Wilson strikes out to end the inning. B5 11-2 Black

Ty Harpenau in for the Black. Klein ground out to 2nd to start the B5. Jung hits a double to left, Warren grounds out. Michael Davis grounds out to 1st.

Hayden Durkiewicz a JUCO addition for the Red Raiders is now in to pitch for Red.

Berglund grounds out, Beck walks,  Willems flies out to center, Martin walks. Durkiewicz walks the bases loaded but no damage as Grant Little flies out.

Kyle John in for the Red Raiders for the last half inning. Clay Koelzer with a ground rule double to the scoreboard in right center. Rheams grounds out to 1st but moves the runner over to third. Simonich grounds out and gets the RBI to cut the Black lead to 11-3. Fulford doubles down the left field line to bring up Cody Farhat. Farhat grounds out 5-3 to ends the ballgame.

Series is tied 1-1
